How to Change Internet Explorer Title Bar Caption
Wednesday, 13 August 2008

Many ISPs customise the title bar for Internet Explorer, even though the computer that you are using has always had it installed.

Have you ever wondered how people change their titlebar text?

  1. Open regedit
  2. Goto:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
  3. In the right-side pane, create a new String value Window Title and set its value to your desired text.
  4. Thats it. Launch Internet Explorer and see your changed caption instantly.

NOTE: You can also use this tutorial in case the titlebar caption has changed automatically and you want to revert it back to default. Just delete the “Window Title” key and it will fix the problem.
