One of the most common complaints from users after a network-wide upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 is that the standard toolbar is no longer in the same place. Users may switch to another browser just based on this inconvenience. If you have these types of users, here is a registry edit you can put in place to restore the standard toolbar to its “throwback” position.
First, open the registry editor and browse to: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser Create a new DWORD value named ITBAR7Position. Double click the new value and give it a value of 1. If you now open IE7, the bar should be back in its classic position. If you really want to ease the deployment of IE7 for your users, you can deploy this for your entire network
