BES for Domino: Corrupt State Databases
Saturday, 27 September 2008

After carrying out a BlackBerry Enterprise Server upgrade to Service Pack 5 or Service Pack 6, a number of User State Databases may become corrupt, with the BlackBerry agent displaying the following messages for the affected users:

  1. SyncFolderList (Username/Org) can not syncronize folder view with legacy folder list (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

  2. SetLastAccessDate failed for Username/Org (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

  3. UnreadMarks::Init - Failed to find user info note (Entry not found in index 0x0404)

In the event that this error occurs, it may be possible to recover by using the following process:

  1. Create a new IT Policy that disables wireless message reconcilation.

    Active Image

  2. Send the policy to affected user(s).
  3. Verify that the policy has been applied successfully.
  4. Open the Users State Database.
  5. Delete all entries in the "User Info" folder.
  6. Delete all entries in the "Mail Folders" folder.
  7. Assign the users normal IT Policy.

Once the IT Policy has been applied successfully, you should be able to refresh the State Database (by pressing F9) and everything should be working. All of the deleted entries get re-created.
